About Us
The Abdelkhalek Torres Foundation is a cultural, educational, intellectual and scientific organization, independent from any political or union entity and non-profit. It was founded on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at the library of the Abdelkhalek Torres Cultural Complex in Tétouan, by a group of national figures, executives and scientific, intellectual and community competencies.
Its objective is to carry the message of leader Abdelkhalek Torres and the pioneers of the national movement, through scientific research and studies, organizing intellectual, social and cultural activities, to consolidate patriotic values among the younger generations.
Founding Circumstances
The idea of creating a foundation bearing the name of Abdelkhalek Torres was driven by executives from the Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima region, bringing together two generations: the first, born in the 1940s-50s, who lived through the Protectorate era, rich in experience and wisdom; the second, post-independence, driven by ambition and the spirit of initiative.
Fields of Action
The foundation's initiatives and activities have multiplied year after year, with diversity characterizing its work, covering most areas of interest to respond to societal needs. The cultural, social and educational dimension remains the primary concern of the executive bureau.
Funding Sources
The foundation relies on legal sources in force: membership fees, contributions from supporters, grants and aid from public and private institutions and elected councils.
